Bad Column Support
This is holding up the house.
You can't see the concrete foundation supporting this steel column because the concrete wasn't formed correctly. Only a tiny portion of the steel is actually supported. After installing temporary support, the builder removed the steel column to repair the concrete foundation before putting it all back together.
Defects like these are an excellent reason to get a pre-drywall inspection so that repairs can be made without risk of damage to finished surfaces.
