Floor Settlement

This countertop has settled
The right-hand wall is an exterior wall, supported by the foundation. It's stable and hasn't moved. The countertop and the interior wall on the left are supported on a concrete floor slab. The floor slab has settled due to poor compaction of backfill soils underneath it. This floor has been repaired (mud-jacking) at least once in the past and has settled again. Unfortunately this type of settlement can continue for many years.
